Development of Client-Specific Sales & Operations Planning Utilities and Templates
While the effective execution of an S&OP process does not require dedicated large-scale focused systems, it generally requires a group of data collection, organization and preparation, manipulation, and presentation utilities, as well as formats. These materials, typically based on Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and Visual Basic, are used to manage S&OP information, solution alternatives, and business case justification background information throughout the S&OP process. EnteGreat has a library of these utilities and templates which can be adapted to fit our clients' S&OP processes and information systems environments. Development of these utilities typically involves the following process:
- Determine the data needed to execute the S&OP process
- From forecasting through to operations planning
- Map the sources of S&OP data within the client's systems environment
- Determine the transformations necessary to get the data into it's required format and granularity
- Understand issues related to synchronization of data (as data is collected from various systems)
- Develop the report or presentation formats needed for the S&OP meetings
- Create the necessary system utilities (applications, interfaces, etc.) needed to gather, transform, manipulate, and present, and record the S&OP data
- S&OP scorecards with line of sight visibility
