Paper Overview
The goal of this paper is to share some real-world experiences concerning the use of OEE from EnteGreat's work helping clients to implement it in high-speed bottling operations, but these lessons also apply to most plant-level line OEE deployments.  In addition to covering some of the basic truths about OEE, such as the fact that OEE is a metric which must be joined with continuous improvement efforts in order to bring positive results, Aly Shawky explains why OEE should not be regarded solely as a way to make improvements through historical analysis.  One of the important things EnteGreat and our clients have learned is that OEE can also be used strategically, for near real-time problem-solving on the shop floor.  In this paper, we share some truths about how OEE can be a powerful tool in empowering shop floor operators to contribute to production improvement goals, helping the people on the plant floor gain understanding and take action in real manufacturing time cycles.
