Presentation Overview:
Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) is a strategic approach to continually manage product information across the entire lifecycle. In order for manufacturers to compete in today’s global economy, they must continuously bring innovative and high-value products to the market. PLM addresses such areas as new product development, new product introduction, collaboration, formulations, recipes, specifications, work instructions, quality testing, and regulatory compliance.

Born as an extension of Product Data Management (PDM), the PLM space has huge potential, because of the value offered to companies that master it. Systems without the processes in place to coordinate product data for outsourcing design & manufacturing are destined to fail. To be successful, systems require PLM applications to manage the delivery of product data across the global supply chain. PLM expands PDM’s scope beyond the traditional world of engineering to providing more product-related information to the extended enterprise. These benefits are especially emphasized within the unique requirements of process industries.

This webinar enables participants to understand the complete spectrum of comprehensive PLM capability within process industries, in order to develop road maps that allow incremental, yet coordinated, strategies to be developed and implemented. It will also give real-life examples of how manufacturers today are utilizing PLM to achieve standardized business processes to better manage their product information requirements.
